Flight 253 & Heros

On Christmas Day, Northwest Flight 253 was the object of an attempted terrorist attack You can read about it here.
There is certainly a lot to talk about, but I will keep this one short.

I could talk about how the administration covered this issue in the news circuit today. There is some commentary
here.
But I am not going to focus on that. I’ll let others do that.

I guess I could wait in trepidation for the updated security measures that could come from this. I don’t want any part of a new “
chones” regulation. I mean, what will we do if the next terrorist attempt is stored in a body cavity. ewwwww. I don’t think I’ll focus on that either.

What I would like to focus on is this, from the first article above.

Smith said a passenger sitting opposite the man climbed over people, went across the aisle and tried to restrain the man. Syed Jafri, another passenger, said he saw a glow and smelled smoke. Then, he said, "a young man behind me jumped on him.""Next thing you know, there was a lot of panic," said Jafri. Smith said the heroic passenger appeared to have been burned.

As long as there are people like that, there is hope for us all. That is what I would like to focus on.

Have you ever been able to take a risk to yourself for the sake of others?

Words.

But words are things, and a small drop of ink,
Falling like dew upon a thought, produces
That which makes thousands, perhaps millions, think.
